Athletics Day/Sports Poem Writing

Athletics Day
Taking a glimpse at the others,
Getting ready slowly,
Stepping up to the line,
Burying her feet deep into the ground,
Dropping her hands like an anchor,
Motivating herself silently.

Breathing deeply,
Eyeing the others,
Running,
Gaining speed with every pace,
Dashing,
Leaping,
Slowing...
Swish!

Challenging the air,
Speeding,
Meeting,
Further, further.

Racing faster and faster,
Looking for third place,
Spying second place,
Sweating,
Gasping,
Sprinting,
Third place in her sight.

Hurrying,
Zooming,
Racing through the mud,
Tying third,
Urging herself to go faster…
Third place!

 HOCKEY POEM

Waiting patiently for the whistle
Powerfully pass backwards
Making my tummy churn
Eyeing the ball
Running up the field
Waiting by the goal

Ready to tip
Extending my arms
Gripping
Positioning myself
Tensing

Getting in position to smack the ball up the field
Legs shaking
Parents roaring
Referees tensing
Teammates spring

GOAL!!!
Chloe

Sprinting towards the drop
Hastily bolting to the drop
Soaring through the air high
Landing softly onto the ground
Flexing softly
getting up again ready to start over
Springing

Panting smooth breath
Exhausted overworked legs
Moving forward
Being focused
Gasping
Functioning
Springing
THUMP!

Sprinting at high speed
Panting
Jumping
Higher and higher

Flipping towards the ground
Running to next jump
Side flipping to ground
Ditching
Rearing
Poised
Jump in sight!

Sliding
Ducking
Skimming through clouds of dust
Falling of the block
Finally did it
VICTORY!

Sleeping Poem
Slowly changing into my pyjamas.
quickly grabbing all of the corners.
To pull the sheet back.
Hopping into my cold clammy bed.
Wriggling in the comfy sheets.
Closing my eyes.
Trying to sleep.
Dreaming.
Waking up to the sunny morning.
Stretching.
Yawning.
Sitting up.
groaning.
CRUNCH!
Devouring my breakfast.
chewing
Gobbling up
Til it’s gone

jumping out of bed

hopping into my clothes
Slipping into my shoes
Stretching
Sighing
Complaining
Not school again
Walking walking
Opening doors
Saying hi to everyone.
Bag away
SCHOOL AGAIN!!

Motocross Poem

Waiting intensely for the stand
Quickly starting in 2nd gear
Accelerating into 2nd place
Inhaling deeply as the finish line Appears
Gripping my hands on the handle bars
Soaring through the air

Clenching my hands
Intensely
Hard
Firmly

Soaring Through the air
Rising
Flying
dashing
Shooting through the air.
Oof!!! As I land on the ground.

Recovering
Accelerating
Roaring past second place
Skidding into first
Motorbikes revving
I won!!

Aidan

Shotput Poem
Walking slowly towards the shot put circle
Firmly Gripping the heavy ball
Clutching it up to my ear
Raising my elbow to throw
Leaning my weight to my right foot
concentrating my weight to my left foot

Rocking slowly,
Aiming far,
Holding,
Resting the shot at my shoulder,
Pushing,
Tilting,
Exploding,
Ahh!

Thrusting my arm with all my might
Launching,
Flying,
Further and further

Leaving my fingers,
Sailing through the air,
Thudding to the ground,
Rolling,
Turning,
Coming to a halt,

Sweating,
Anticipating,
Waiting for my mark,
I’m qualified!!

Rock Climbing Poem

Staring heavily at the wall
Slowly attaching the harness
Stepping up to the wall
Placing my hands onto the grips
Grinding my feet onto the pegs

Breathing deeply
Hands sweating
Muscles moving
Positioning hands in order
Gripping
Tensing
Moving
‘BEEP!’

Soaring through the air
Spinning
Gliding
Going further down

Racing down
Pledging fast
Nearly at the bottom
Panting
Sweating
Floor in sight

Sliding
Skimming
Touching the ground
Sweat streaming across my face
Parents clapping
‘Rock Climbing’

SADDLE HUNTER || Angela Pivac || 2017

Waiting quietly ring side,
Slowly entering the ring.
Glancing slightly at my competition,
Gripping the leather reins.
Pony on the bit.

Squeezing with legs,
Picking up the trott.
Excelling ponies paces,
Accelerating
Sweating
Panting.

Increasing the Trott,
Extending down the long side.
Riding forward into Canter.

Sweating under jacket.
Puffing
Gasping
Accelerating.

Collecting Paces.
Inhaling.
Pushing into Gallop.
Hooves tearing up Grass.
Downwards transition.
Halt, Salute.

Parkour
Glaring smoothly at the course,
Slowly stepping back while getting ready.
Sprinting towards the course,
Leaping like a frog onto a small poll,
Keeping on jump onto bigger polls.
Slamming hard against a wall while gripping on,
Smoothly ‍‍‍‍climbing up the wall.

Inhaling deeply,
Dreaming whats next,
Sprinting forward,
Puffing,
Jumping…
SLAM!

Rolling on the floor,
Rising,
Vaulting,
Closer and closer.

Scurrying towards the warped wall,
Leaning back like in limbo,
All speed and might,
Gripping,
Pulling,
Pushing,
Top is near!

Diving,
Rolling,
Flipping through the air,
Closer and closer to finish,
Arms up while running to finish,
39 seconds!

Dumplings
I am writing an procedure for a recipe of dumplings because it's the easiest way to show someone how to do something

What you need:dumpling wrapping, dumpling filling, electric frying pan, water, oil.

1.Get the wrapping and dip your finger in the water then dab your wet finger on the outside of the wrapping

2. Take the dumpling filling and and put in the bit where there's no water/the middle.

3.After that fold your dumpling in half and squeeze the wet edges firmly make sure that you leave no gaps if there's a gap it will ruin it so always double check.

4.Once you've folded it and made sure there's no gaps put them down and turn on the electric frying pan

5.Pour some oil in the pan

6. Place the dumplings you have made in the pan and wait till you hear sizzling

7.Start timing for 10 minutes and put the lid on

8.Once it's been 10 minutes take the dumplings out and enjoy .

Dumplings - Moment in time
Pork Fumes arose from the deep black frying pan creating a Dumpling scent across the whole room.   The frying pan bubbles sizzled like a summer sunburn.   We carefully placed the tanned dumplings in a plate.  We carried our bowls of  dumplings like the queen’s crown and planted the bowl on the table.  We slowly drizzled the brown syrupy liquid over the steaming dumplings.  We grabbed our bowls of goodness, and devoured.
