Next term we are going to the Marae at Silverdale. We will be welcomed on with a powhiri. We are beginning to learn about the protocols of visiting a Marae. As part of the powhiri, we will be expected to introduce ourselves in a pepeha.
We have written and drawn our pepeha....our maunga, awa, iwi, whanau, koroua (grandfather), kuia (grandmother), mama and papa and finally our name (ingoa). Now we will learn them off by heart.
