African Animal Art

Term 3 was about Individualism and Tolerance. We performed in the Zany Zoo production.

For Visual art we created African Animal art, using our individual Kente Cloth designs and decorating our animals with creative patterns. This became our Ag Day art. The students created outstanding art. Many of us had our art put onto t-shirts too!

We began by drawing our chosen animal, then cutting it out in layers to create an almost three dimensional representation.
Next we painted the blended background, in warm African colours. Then we attached strips of our kente cloth pattern to the top and bottom of the paper.
These are the beautiful results!

Welcome back to term four!

Tēnā koutou katoa!

Welcome back everyone.

We have a really busy term ahead of us with lots of great learning and fun.

Not only do we have Ag day coming up in less than two weeks (on the 27th), but we are hosting the Tū Māia Kapa Haka festival on the 30th of November. On this day, we will have hundreds of Kapa Haka students and their whanau visiting our school. It will be amazing!

Before then, remember that this is a 'hats on' term - if you do not have a hat on you will be expected to stay in shaded areas during breaks.

This week we have Photolife Portraits on Tuesday - so don't forget to spruce up if you are having your photo taken.

On Thursday we will be participating in the annual Shakeout and we will be doing activities connected to this throughout the week.

Next Monday is Labour Day so we have a short week in week 2

We have a welcome on Tuesday morning of week 2 for ERO who are in school during the week

Ag day is coming up on the 27th

Chicken diaries are due in at the end of this week!

Lets get into it !
