Working from Home - Week 4

Well done to all the students and their families working from home again.... we can do this!! There is some interesting space research and persuasive speech writing underway. I have enjoyed reading all the Inner coach thoughts in the Zones of Regulation lesson. Here are a few examples...

Congratulations to Isla and Eva for moving up another level on Core 5. Here are their certificates!

Keep up all the super learning Team!

Some of the amazing work being done at home includes Mason's biodome for which he has provided detailed description of the workings - no doubt he will soon to be contacted by Elon Musk and the SpaceX team!

For water there is a drill that brings up ice from under-ground and puts it in a metal box which uses solar power to heat up the ice turning it to water. The water then makes its way to the trees. The trees will give off air so the dome does not run out.The water makes its way to the crops which will eventually grow.it will be eaten and fed to the animal which will be shot when old enough and put in the room filled with ice and snow from the leftovers from the drill.in case of running out of food there are cockroaches (cockroaches because they live forever)last of all there is a living room which has beds a couch a toilet and a furnace. The couch is for resting when your tired. The toilets for doing your business. The beds are for sleeping. The furnace is for disinfecting water, cooking meat and vegetables, and disinfecting the cockroaches.

Part of the rocket designing team will also ably come from LZ1

As well as radio control

while some of us will be entertained at home

Such a talented bunch.

AFL with Orewa College Students

We are learning how to play AFL with some Year 12 & 13 Orewa College students over the next few weeks. Two of the students who came this week were past pupils of Dairy Flat. It was great to see them back giving back to their primary school. The college students have to plan and present the lessons to our primary students.....one comment I overheard was how good our students were at following instructions! We were kept engaged with new techniques and games to practice. A great session.
