Waterwise writing

Splash! Freezing salt water stings my eyes as waves crash against my optimist boat. I push the tiller to the other side of the boat. The boom swings round barely missing my head. A gust of wind hits the main sail. I get up and quickly sit down on the other side of the boat and and I pull the main sheet. My fear slips away. I feel so excited. I turn round. I have just finished a real tack/turn!

Waterwise

Mrs Jefferson's homeroom was the first class to go to Manly Beach for Waterwise. We had a magnificent day. The students tried sailing Optimists, paddling kayaks, practicing life saving and swimming. Many students were doing some of these activities for the first time. Lots of courage and learning. Many thanks to the wonderful parents who gave their time and energy to help....we couldn't do these activities without you.
